Hi, I’m Dr Rita Lai, your local dentist and proud to be able to offer you a range of professional services using the most advanced equipment right here in Varsity Lakes.
Why did I become a dentist? Well, dentistry is in my blood. My uncle is a dentist and I used to go to his office after school. Back then I didn’t know much about what dentistry meant aside from seeing my uncle with his patients, the relationship he had with them, and the chats they had as if they had been friends for years.
I have always loved working with people and being able to help others, so it was seeing the difference my uncle made for adults and children alike that made me think I wanted to be a dentist.
Since then, I’ve earned a degree in Biology and graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry and have practiced at a number of highly regarded clinics.
Now I’ve decided to go out on my own, I want to create a space that can make a difference for anyone needing a dentist, a place that provides the best customer service and a place that uses advanced digital technologies, highest quality materials, with meticulous attention to detail.
More importantly, a place that cares about its patients as individuals in everything we do, as I believe people never forget a dentist who gives them a beautiful smile, and also won’t forget how we make them feel.
I strive to be gentle, thorough, and communicate openly to ensure that my patients understand their oral health. With a love of all aspects of general dentistry, I always emphasise the importance of preventative care.
Outside of work, I love taking my dog, named Frankenstein on adventures, enjoy doing Zumba, karate, and watching Netflix. You will usually find me at the local shops enjoying good food, catching up with friends, seeing the newest movies, or all of the above together.

COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION AND CLEAN
All new patients receive our comprehensive examination and clean service. This is so we know where to start, and it’s a good base to work up from. We’ll also provide you with dental insights to keep your teeth.
VENEERS (PORCELAIN AND HYBRIDS)
These are a super-thin piece of porcelain bonded to your natural tooth using safe adhesive technology to transform your smile. We use these to refresh your smile or to fix up any cosmetic defects.
ORAL SURGERY & TEETH REMOVAL
If some of your teeth are giving you grief, we can gently and safely remove these. If you require more specialist care, we can refer you to our professional network of specialist Maxillofacial colleagues.
OCCLUSAL SPLINT (NIGHT GUARD)
This is a removable guard that is worn at night time, used to protect your teeth from deterioration and wear of grinding or clenching. It’s incredibly helpful in preventing teeth cracking and height reduction.

FISSURE SEALANTS
Protect your teeth with our fissure sealants. As an effective and pain free way of keeping your teeth from decaying, these sealants use a resin coating which covers the chewing surfaces of the back adult teeth.
RESTORATIONS (FILLINGS)
If your tooth decays or has a cavity, we restore it with a strong white resin material after making sure the teeth are germ free. We hope that it doesn’t get to that point, but we are prepared if it does.
CROWNS AND BRIDGE
In the event that a tooth becomes too damaged that it can’t support a filling, we can restore it with a crown. Talk to us more about this service, as it depends on the person and the kind of dental care required.
X-RAYS
Tooth x-rays are a noninvasive, low radiation way of taking an image for a proper diagnosis of tooth related issues. We can also use x-rays during routine procedures if there is a dental problem that needs further analysis.
KID’S DENTAL TREATMENT
We love working with kids and have a range of techniques that’ll help relax our younger patients and make them feel more comfortable during their visit. We make it fun for them and encourage questions!
CUSTOM-MADE SPORT MOUTHGUARDS
If you or your child plays a sport that requires a mouthguard for the protection of teeth, or if you want one to safeguard anyway, we can provide custom options!
ROOT CANAL THERAPY
If your tooth has been severely cracked or chipped, you may need to use our root canal therapy procedure. Note that this procedure is only for severely compromised teeth and we recommend contacting our team if you think this is the case.
INVISIBLE ORTHODONTICS
We offer Invisalign to eligible people! If you are looking for the world’s most advanced clear aligners, look no further. Say goodbye to braces and hello to Invisalign.
PERIODONTAL TREATMENT (DEEP GUM CLEANING TREATMENT)
This treatment involves deep cleaning, which removes bacteria, tartar, debris and toxin that has collected under the gum line over time. If severe gum disease occurs, this treatment can help delay.
