The recent shortage of timber supplies meant builders had to seek alternatives to meet deadlines. This change brought a lot of attention to the new way to build through light gauge steel. For some it was a first, and a new way to build moving forward.
Image One Homes was one of many builders who chose light gauge steel after the shortage of timber. For their particular project at Heidelberg Heights, the team needed urgent supplies of truss and pozzies. Timing was critical and there was no room for error.
The Templestowe Lower property owned by the builder required an urgent end-to-end light gauge steel solution. The builder had envisioned his own home to be more durable than the regular timber and made the choice to go light gauge steel.
The idea was to convert the plan from timber to light gauge steel, reduce the amount of structural steel present and install the light gauge steel on-site.
