A custom-built home is one designed to client specifications, in contrast to having a predesigned plan. Custom build homes are becoming more popular, but many contractors find it difficult to design homes that are built 100% to client specifications while also being profitable. It requires excellent people skills, efficient processes, an extensive network of home builders, and decades of industry experience to put it all together. It’s impossible to cover the full range of what a home build entails. Before you even start to build, you will have to sign a preliminary agreement, obtain financing, and draw up your plans. This can take up to six months. Your building license also has to come in, though this can be done by us.

Generally, the order of a build is first the earth and concrete workers build the house frame. Next, the roof frame is installed. This is followed by the electrician for circuits and outlets and the plumber for pipes. The roof plumber then arrives, and the roofing material is applied. Next comes the carpenter and finally the carpenter for doors. The windows may then be inserted.

You now have the outline of a house, but it will still need to be revisited multiple times by a tiler, painter, plumber, appliance installer, and many other contractors before you can finally call a house your home. A lot goes into a home build! This is why you should only work with people you can trust.
