Firstly, I am not the type of person to leave a negative review. This is my first negative review that I have felt compelled to make publicly for the safety of other people's pets and as a dog lover. For the safety & wellbeing of your dog, do not send your dog here. I would give a no star rating if I could. When our dog, an otherwise healthy dog got gravely sick during his stay at Kip and needed emergency vet, they took no responsibility. There is no air conditioning for the accommodation of dogs in this facility. This is very important to know when considering that Melbourne experiences extreme heatwaves in summer. Amongst other many likely failures to care for him and keeping him housed at a reasonable temperature during a Melbourne summer heatwave, they didn’t adhere to our instruction not to socialise our timid dog. They were rude to us when we asked for an explanation about the circumstances surrounding our dog's sudden and totally unexpected haemorrhaging, vomiting, sitting in his water bowl to cool down and diarrhea. As a dog lover, who wants others to avoid the experience we had I feel it important to tell people about this horrifying experience. Please give utmost consideration to where you decide to board your beloved family pet as you could potentially risk their health if you make the wrong decision. They will claim they are not at fault purely to protect their own business interests & future revenue stream from clients like you, so make your own assessment about the risk that you are willing to take.

My hound was very happy when I picked him up after a night at Kip Bayside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I made an online booking the night before and when I called first thing the next morning they were very helpful in confirming the last minute booking.

My go to place for my beagle's boarding while I'm away. She's been here since Kip was known as Abba. The staff are all lovely. And the main thing is that my beagle always have a good time there. It's a really nice touch to be able to see some pictures on the portal too.

Has your dog been itching to try daycare?

You need to attend a First Day Trial before coming more regularly

We want to ensure your pup gets started on the right paw when they join the Kip family. That’s why all dogs do a first-day trial to see whether the daycare environment suits them. On this first day trial, we encourage you to arrive before 9:00am to give your dog the best chance of success. We will give you an update throughout the day, and at pick-up, you will receive a report card and the team will discuss a recommended attendance plan. You will also need to be available for an earlier pick-up should our staff deem that daycare is not suitable for your dog.

Grab a 3-Day Intro Pack for only $26/day (1 month expiry) - saving $105!

To attend daycare your dog will need to be vaccinated (to C5 or above) and desexed if over 12 months. Dogs can attend their First Day Trial 10 days after their second vaccination (C5 or equivalent).

FAQs

What are the requirements to attend?

Dogs can attend doggy daycare 10 days after their second vaccine (C5 or equivalent)

• Dogs must be de-sexed by 12 months

• Pet parents must present an up-to-date C5 vaccination certificate

Once these are completed, you’re all set to join the pack!

How does a daycare day work?

A Kip day starts bright and early at 7:00am, giving you plenty of time to drop off your furry friend on the way to work. Your dog’s day will be divided into two play sessions, morning and afternoon, and is broken up with quiet time in between to relax and recharge. This balance ensures that every dog has a great time without being overwhelmed and goes home looking forward to their next visit.

What does a daycare + boarding visit look like?

Your dog will come out of their room first thing for a morning play session, then return to their room for some delicious brekkie. After breakfast, they’ll rejoin the daycare group for more socialisation and enrichment. As the day comes to a close, it’s time for dinner in their room, and once they’re all fed and tired, your dog can kick back and relax in their comfy bed, ready for a kip.

How will my dog be grouped?

Groups are generally based on size, personality and play style so that your pup can enjoy their time with their BFFs (best furry friends!). Our animal handlers will also switch around groups as needed so that your dog gets the best out of every visit.

How safe is Kip Bayside?

Safety is our number one priority. All dogs in our care are fully vaccinated and have passed their trial day before joining. Our floors are also non-slip and water-resistant, and our fences dig-proof. All boarding rooms are also secured to ensure that your dog will stay exactly where they should be.

Why do you charge a late cancellation fee?

The late cancellation charge allows us to reallocate your reservation to another pup if you are unable to attend your session. This late cancellation/no-show charge applies to customers who fail to cancel a daycare visit by 5pm the day prior to the reservation.

What if my pet takes medication?

Absolutely! For an extra $5/pet/day, we can administer medication to your pets. Please provide all medication in a marked vet bag and provide enough medication for the entire duration of their stay.

Can I tour the facilities?

Absolutely! Simply contact us at [email protected] so our team can organise the best time for you to tour the premises.

My dog is a picky eater! Can I bring my own food?

We sure can, for an extra fee of $3/day! Please provide all required food, clearly marked and labelled. Please inform staff if your dog has any food allergies.
