About us

MediRecords is Australia’s leading cloud-hosted patient management platform, operating nationally across the government and private sectors. A trusted partner to healthcare organisations, MediRecords services the needs of doctors, specialists, multidisciplinary clinics and hospitals providing virtual and/or face-to-face care. The MediRecords platform seamlessly connects clinicians, patients and partner organisations, removing barriers to data interoperability with our secure, open and connected architecture. Our Connect platform offers API and FHIR connectivity, and we use SNOMED terminology coding to simplify data exchange with other systems. We believe better access to health care data enables better patient health outcomes. Founded in 2014, MediRecords was created to improve patient care while reducing costs associated with outdated technology. We work closely with our community members, patients, partners, and fellow innovators to continue improving the way healthcare is delivered for all. As industry pioneers, we are innovative, forward-thinking and dedicated to powering digital health with next generation cloud connectivity.

Recently, we hosted our first 'Bring Your Kids to Work Day' across the Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney offices! ✨🎨 🎬 🍿 🐶 The day was filled with laughter, creativity, and boundless energy, including a special appearance from our CEO, Matthew Galetto's dog in Sydney. It was lovely sharing our workspace with the kids and offering them a glimpse into where their parents work. The kids enjoyed participating in numerous fun activities, including arts & crafts, movies & popcorn, table tennis, bubble-gum blowing and even the challenge of redecorating the MediRecords logo! We are committed to nurturing a family-friendly work environment, and we look forward to making these days a regular tradition here at MediRecords. #BringYourKidsDay #Workplaceculture #Futureleaders

Tomorrow, May 11th marks the first International Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Day (IHMBD)! 🩸 Did you know that 1 in 4 women of reproductive age suffer with Heavy Menstrual Bleeding (HMB)? That’s 25% of women facing not just a period problem, but a significant barrier to their overall well-being. Heavy menstrual loss can take a toll on physical, emotional, social, and material aspects of a woman's life.   Led by one of MediRecords' fantastic customers, Dr Talat Uppal (Women's Health Road), IHMBD is the first international awareness day to recognise this common condition. Bleed Better's mission is to promote open discussions, diminish menstrual stigma and ultimately improve women's quality of life through effective HMB management.   Bleed Better is hosting an online event tomorrow featuring guest speakers who will raise awareness, offer management insights, and advocate for a shift in attitudes towards heavy menstrual bleeding. Register here - https://lnkd.in/gSk-eXkC   Join us in raising awareness for menstrual health and supporting women to #BleedBetter ❤️   Learn more about Bleed Better & IHMBD in our latest article below. #womenshealth #IHMBD #menstrualhealth

Customers and Growth: Celebrating Digital Health Festival 2024  One of the definitions of a ‘festival’ is an ‘event celebrated by a community’. The Digital Health Festival in Melbourne this year certainly fitted the bill. The Digital Health Festival won a place in the hearts of Victorians as the first major tradeshow following pandemic lockdowns, when it served as a reunion of industry peers tired of meeting on Teams. Since then, the festival has grown in leaps and bounds. Indeed, #DHF24 gave the vibes of a smaller scale HIMSS-style event, with attendees from all over Australia and New Zealand. At events like this you normally get an opportunity to circle items on the agenda, attend talks and mingle, checking out what other innovators are up to. Not so much this year! MediRecords was swamped from the get go and we talked ourselves hoarse. The level of interest in what we’re doing for the Australian Defence Force, in virtual care and in hospitals, was amazing. So, the themes for us this conference were Customers – present and future – and Growth. Here are some of our observations from a festival that was action-packed from start to finish: - Lots of talk about digital maturity and why it’s an expensive choice NOT to transition to cloud technology. A server can cost upwards of $40K plus a chunk of your office space and extra energy costs. IT support can be $30K per year. Outsourcing all these costs to a cloud vendor is getting to be a no-brainer. - Getting on stage with Dr Talat Uppal from Women's Health Road and James Sneddon from Hyphen Health was great fun. Like many of our clients, Talat and James are changing the way healthcare is delivered and we are proud to be among their technology partners. - It was brilliant to catch up with the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department team and hear how they are handling being a bustling statewide service with MediRecords as an ePrescribing platform.  - It was excellent spending time with Defence representatives and demonstrating our part of their new Health Knowledge Management platform. - Need API and FHIR connectivity? Reach out to us. We have clients using our Connect suite in so many exciting ways. - Speaking of #FHIR, it was awesome to see our collaborators from the Sparked AU Community out in force. - AI applications were everywhere. (Stay tuned for exciting news from MediRecords.)  - Shout outs to clients including updoc, We Lysn, Sonder and Northern Health – great to see you in person! - The DHF Start-Up section is going viral. It has grown from a couple of aisles to a substantive and energetic area that’s a must-visit zone. We look forward to adding collaborators to our upcoming Marketplace. We had so many rushed conversations with tech partners and former colleagues – too many to name. Thanks for being part of the community that makes these events fun. See you at #DHF25.

Smart forms in Cloud technology offers the type of flexibility we need in healthcare. This is a great partnership . #smartforms MediRecords Health Services Daily The first Smart Form, a falls risk assessment, is expected to be available in MediRecords later this month. That will be extended to inpatient admissions and primary care assessment forms. Commissioned by the Department of Health and Aged Care, Smart Forms technology was developed to improve health assessment procedures and clinical information sharing, first demonstrated through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Check Assessment Smart Form. Standardised forms can streamline how clinicians capture patient data and simplify how this data is made available for research and other analysis.

MediRecords will soon deploy CSIRO's open-source Smart Forms software, enabling us to develop FHIR forms faster for introduction into clinical use. MediRecords will use Smart Forms to expand our range of clinical templates, starting with a Falls Risk Assessment and extending to inpatient Admissions and Primary Care Assessment forms. By utilising CSIRO's Smart Forms technology, MediRecords aims to improve data capture options, providing clinicians with advanced tools for delivering personalised patient care.   MediRecords Integrations Lead, Sanjeed Quaiyumi, said, “MediRecords is laying the foundations for the adoption of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) in the broader health ecosystem, having developed and implemented an extensive library of FHIR and API resources. Smart Forms provide an exciting new way to gather and share data.”   Our first Smart Form, focusing on Falls Risk Assessment, will be available very soon. Read more about Smart Forms & our deployment in our latest article.   #HealthcareInnovation #SmartForms #FHIR #CSIRO
