If you're doing email marketing - these February changes may impact you and mean you can no longer send out emails. You will need to be compliant. Gmail and Yahoo have rolled out major privacy updates for 2024. But hold on, it's not what you might think. This time, it's more about email sender policies than direct user privacy. So, what does this mean for your business, especially if you have email marketing in place? Let's break it down: 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀: These updates are primarily targeting bulk email senders. The goal? To beef up inbox security and cut down on spam. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: If you're sending emails to your list on a regular basis, you'll need to verify your identity using protocols like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗨𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲: Emails now need a straightforward, single-click unsubscribe option and make it easy for recipients to opt-out if they wish to. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘄: A low spam complaint rate is more crucial than ever to ensure your emails actually reach inboxes. Originally announced for February 2024, these guidelines have a broader enforcement window in Q1 2024. Make sure you're meeting these updated guidelines to avoid any email delivery hiccups. Remember, these updates are part of an ongoing effort to make your inboxes safer and more secure. They might evolve further, so it's wise to keep an eye on official channels for any future announcements. If you need help implementing the technical requirements, let's chat! Remember how third-party cookies were your go-to for understanding customer behaviour online? Well, times are changing. Several major browser vendors (i.e. Firefox, Safari, Chrome) are leading the charge in phasing out third-party cookies, with each adopting its own approach to enhance user privacy and comply with increasing privacy regulations. This change means you need to be more active and smart about how you collect and use customer data. Instead of relying on data collected by others, you'll need to focus on the information you gather yourself through customer interactions in your website. This is where sharpening your data analysis skills comes in, along with possibly using new tech that can help make sense of this direct customer data. The tools and platforms that let you deeply analyse customer data and manage customer relationships will be important for your marketing efforts. Google Analytics 4 is especially useful in this new landscape. It employs AI and machine learning to sift through the data you collect directly from your customers. This isn't just about counting clicks; it's about understanding the deeper story behind your customers' interactions and preferences. By using these advanced tools, you gain richer, more detailed insights into what your customers really want and how they interact with your brand. Now, it's time to think about your next steps. And if you need help with identifying the best ways to adapt your online strategies to these changes, drop me a message. We can talk about turning these new challenges into opportunities for deeper customer connections. #commonsensemarketing #website #seoservices

Imagine having a tool that tells you how long visitors stay on your site, which pages they love, and which ones need a little TLC. Do you consider Google Analytics to be mainly for website geeks? Not true! Once you know what to look for, you'll find that well-structured analytics reports provide a goldmine of insights that can help you with just about all your marketing decisions. Diving into analytics helps you understand your visitors' behaviour. Are they sticking around and visiting several pages, or are they leaving fairly quickly? Which pages/posts are they spending the most time on, and the least time on? What topics are they interested in? Where are they taking action? This data tells you what you need to tweak to keep your visitors on your site longer. Analytics reports will also show you where your visitors came from. You can see how they reached your site - eg: by searching online, or from a specific social media platform, or from a link in an email. When we use clever advanced strategies, the analytics reports will show you which campaigns they clicked on to reach your site and make an enquiry or purchase. Was it the Birthday promotion or the Black Friday promotion with the video, or the one with the funny image? This is pure gold when it comes to reviewing your campaigns' effectiveness and return on investment. In short, your Analytic reports are where you learn the truth. They give you the roadmap for ongoing marketing strategies and performance improvements. If you're ready to learn more about how to use Google Analytics for marketing decision making, pls comment below or DM me. #commonsensemarketing #website #seoservices

Is your website content a bit... last season? It’s time for a content refresh. Keeping your website relevant and engaging is key to ensuring that visitors not only come, but also stay and explore and hopefully take action. Here's the deal: your audience's interests can shift, and so should your content. Start by reviewing your current material. Is it up-to-date and accurate? Does it reflect your brand’s voice? And most importantly, does it answer your audience's current questions and needs? 👉 Spruce things up by injecting new life into your blog posts, images, and videos. 👉 Revisit old posts and update them with fresh insights or tie them to contemporary issues. 👉 SEO isn’t static, so your content shouldn't be either. Regularly update your keywords based on the latest search trends to keep drawing in organic traffic. You will be rewarded in page rankings when you do this. 👉 And let's talk about engagement. Interactive content such as quizzes, polls, and infographics can turn passive readers into active participants. Plus, these elements are shareable, which helps extend your reach on social media. Remember, your website is a living entity in the digital space. It should be evolving just as your market and business does. By refreshing your content, you're not just staying relevant; you're showing your audience that you're a market leader. Ready to refresh but not sure where to start? Let's review your content strategy together and see how to make your website as dynamic and vibrant as your business. #commonsensemarketing #website #seoservices
