WINNING ART COMPETITION SUBMISSION ANNOUNCED! 🎉 We have our winner for the Mental Illness Resilience Art Competition! Each and every one of these submissions has helped to break the stigma around mental illness. We're proud to announce the winner is... "Free Your Mind" by Linda Chapman. "Free Your Mind" is a piece that explores the idea of a mental cage where our traumatized selves reside. Some of them can see through the bars of their own limitations and are gradually breaking free from the restrictions imposed on them by past traumas. However, some of these selves can only see the bars in front of them and cannot see beyond them to unlock their full potential. Meanwhile, the gears of the mind keep turning persistently, as we strive to overcome our inner obstacles and move forward. A note from the Judging Panel that they wanted to share with you all: “We were absolutely stunned by the diverse talent that’s been submitted and your stories. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable.” You can view all of the incredible entries here https://bit.ly/3UqSnE1 Drop a 🎉 below to say congrats to Linda! #FerosCare #GrowBold #MentalResilience #MentalHealthAwareness #Art #ArtCompetition #SmashingStereotypes #TimeForAChange

In the lead-up to Mother's Day, this one goes out to our Neurodiverse Mum's who are reshaping routines like dinner time! Mums like Aria-nominated pianist and composer, Nat Bartsch, who uses noise-cancelling headphones while she’s cooking dinner, “so I don’t suddenly have all these noises in my periphery while I’m trying to transition out of making music.” As a family, Nat and her husband have reshaped their idea of what dinner time should ‘look like’, and dispelled the traditional view of sitting around the table with no distractions. The beach haven town of Bowen Brews was recently home to our very first "Career Journey" program! It brought together 11 determined people with disability, each one with a big entrepreneurial dream. Three “Exploring Self-Employment” workshops were run over three weeks to help participants understand what self-employment is. Sherrie, who is skilled at jewellery making, told us “I really enjoyed my experience with the Career Journey. I found it interesting to listen to the different business ideas and appreciated the group’s supportive atmosphere.” Congratulations to all of our wonderful participants!
