Outside of work… "My partner and I are animal lovers passionate about animal welfare, consistently adopting, fostering, and donating. Whilst any sport-specific playing days are well behind me, I’m an avid AFL, NFL, and Soccer (Football) fan and like to catch games across the weekend. Yesterday, some of the Ledge executives attended the WA CAFBA PD Day at Parmelia Hilton Perth.    Centred around the theme of ‘how to thrive and survive in times of adversity,’ the day featured a bumper lineup including CAFBA – Commercial & Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia CEO David Bushby, who provided an update on CAFBA, Westpac Group Economist Jameson Coombs, who shared a comprehensive economic update, and speakers from CBA and TaxAssure, who discussed the issues of tax debt and finance fraud among other things.    A highlight of the day was the “fireside chat” between CAFBA Secretary and Ledge Finance Executive Neil Ferguson and special guest speaker Dale Alcock, MD of ABN Group/Dale Alcock Homes     During the chat, Dale shared some key traits of good leadership, including: - being genuine, - empowering your staff to do what is within their control, - making decisions, - deciding on a course, and - being aware that you may have to adjust your path depending on changing circumstances.  What would your top leadership tip be? This month, we introduce you to our Operations Manager, the amazing Kerry Duncan!    Kerry joined the team in 2002 after leaving the travel industry to secure a future in finance and didn’t know it was the correct career path at the time. However, 2024 marks 22 years with Ledge! Here's Kerry to tell you more: Ledge has been incredibly supportive of my work-life balance, particularly during my early stages of starting a family, providing flexible work arrangements. The company culture and my co-workers have been a huge influence on my career. What does your role involve? As Operations Manager, I manage a team of four incredible operation team members. We work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, coordinate settlements and prepare finance documentation. I’m responsible for maintaining and improving the collection of information and data. I also provide training and ongoing support to the team. What do you love most about what you do? The thing I love most about my role is working with supportive colleagues who challenge and motivate me. In this fast-paced environment, I consistently learn new things, develop my skills, and push myself. And I'm most rewarded when we exceed customer expectations.
