CEO & Founder @ Ethnolink 🌏 Translation Services (NAATI) & Multicultural Communications in 150 languages, helping Government & NFP clients communicate with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities

Between 2016 and 2021, the number of people in Australia who speak English 'not well' or 'not at all' rose by 6.4%. In 2021, that was a total of 872,206 people. This represents 3.4% of the population of Australia. Victoria (4.5%) and New South Wales (4.4%) lead the way with the highest proportion of people who speak English not well' or 'not at all' relative to each state's respective population. And in Australia, people speak over an astounding 300 languages! Pretty impressive, right? In an increasingly multilingual Australia, communicating in your audience's language is a priority. So the question becomes, 'HOW can I reach my audience?' One simple way is through translation. That's what we specialise in at Ethnolink. And we're one of the only agencies in Australia to hold the internationally recognised certification for this: ISO17100 (Translation Services). That means that we've got a relentless focus on QUALITY translations. So next time you're thinking about designing your communications, think about translating your content into your audience's language. Remember to set aside budget for translating into your audience's languages. In doing so, you might just reach some of those 872,206 people. #translation #CALD #multicultural #communication #culturaldiversity

Meet our Head of Production, Bethany! 👋 Originally from Australia, Bethany's upbringing in Kathmandu, Nepal, fueled her love for languages. She's dabbled in French, Chinese, Nepali, and Indonesian, but her heart truly belongs to Spanish. After immersing herself in Madrid and South America, Bethany pursued her Master in Interpreting and Translation Studies at Monash University, becoming a NAATI Certified Spanish to English translator. From intern to Project Manager to Head of Production, Bethany's passion and dedication inspires us everyday! Outside of work, she likes to keep moving and to try new things. You'll find her at Parkrun training for a half marathon, at a Salsa night, learning Judo, or teaching her parrotlet Sulley new tricks! 🐦 #MeetTheTeam #Ethnolink #MulticulturalCommunications #Translation #Team
