What a great year
Goodbye 2023 what a great year for the Academy! 4 NDS students training with head coach Jeff Schneider all of whom have made big improvements during 2023 all being Nationally competitive at Australian titles, winning titles and having big performances along the way. June/July saw our trip to Mallorca for 4 weeks of intensive clay court training while Anastasija spent the Summer in Serbia, qualifying for maindraw at some ITF Junior Events in Europe! I would like to thanks all my students for the effort they have put in and especially the willingness to make some key changes to their games thru out 2023. I am looking forward to an amazing 2024 with you all...
UPDATE:
Our Trip to Mallorca was a great success with 4 weeks on the tough Majorcan clay! The girls (Lexi Williams and Emma Eckstein) learned many things from the type of physical fitness required to be competitive on clay to how to handle the high bounces, the movement on clay and the longer rallies! Many thanks to Ali & Valerie @TennisAcademyMallorca for making our stay smooth and enjoyable. Wonderful weather during our stay which was June and part of July only 1 morning of rain during the whole month...The girls visited the Rafa Nadal Academy and made good use of the pro shop which is huge and full of signature Nadal clothes and accessories. The girls competed in a local junior tournament and lots of matchplay organised by the Academy. The local beaches, culture and cuisine was a big hit with the girls prompting the question after only 1 week - are we coming back here again next year? This was a sign the girls were really enjoying themselves even though they were toughing out some big days at the academy with 5hrs on crt and over an hour fitness after that! It looks like the trip has paid dividends with NDS player Emma Eckstein having some great results at the Hard Court Nationals Adelaide followed by being part of the winning Bruce Cup team Qld and being 2 pts away from taking out the #1 seed in Melb at the Masters Final (Showdown).
Director Jeff Schneider is organising camps on the famous tennis Island of Mallorca - home to Rafa Nadal and many other top Spanish Academies. The camps are for 3 different type of players:- Pro/Elite players, Aspiring Juniors and Recreation Adults. TAM can cater to all these different levels with Adult morning clinics & all day Junior camps in July & August. Elite junior training is twice daily each week during June July August. Jeff will help tailor a program that suits your level and aspirations. Access to local Tournaments is also available for elite and advanced players. If you are serious about tennis it is important that you become comfortable on clay and the earlier you have that experience & the more often - the better! Tennis Director Jeff Schneider has already organised successful camps to Mallorca in 2013, 2014 and has used Tennis Academy Mallorca as an EU base for pro player Taiyo Yamanaka for the last 3 years. Over 60 ITF Mens Futures Tournaments all over the world including Australian Open & US Open juniors.

2022 UPDATE
After over 3 years on the World Tennis Tour (WTT) with Taiyo Yamanaka coach Jeff has returned to the Gold Coast to work with a select group of talented junior athletes. Jeff started working with Taiyo almost 4 years ago as a talented junior from Japan with a ITF junior ranking in low 200s. At the end of his junior career he achieved a top 100 junior world ranking of 70 with appearances at the Aust & US Opens.
Now after 2 years on the WTT so far achieved a career high ATP ranking in the 900s as of April 2022. During the covid-19 pandemic Jeff mapped out an ambitious tournament schedule including training blocks in Japan and Spain at our sister Academy @TennisAcademyMallorca followed by National tournaments in Spain until the resumption of ITF Mens Tour.
So after such an immense program and the end of a successful contract (career high ranking) with Taiyo I now look forward to staying put for a few years to spend time with my family and focus on the next Gen of stars here in Qld. We wish Taiyo the very best of luck for the rest of the year with the expectation of great results to follow on Tour.

Here is some Academy history:- Activa Tennis commenced in 2016 after Jeff & Yoko Schneider returned from a 6 year contract with the largest Sports/Tennis club in Hong Kong (LRC). Activa immediately took off with many of Jeff's ex students returning to his coaching program. Activa merged with Sanctuary Cove Tennis in 2018 bringing a much needed high performance level to the business.
Activa Tennis (2018) now owns Sanctuary Cove Tennis Pty Ltd and has started fresh in 2019 with the principles and program design that lead to many of our players successes over the past 3 years and an engaging Hotshots program for our little heros! We have produced ITF Junior Champions, National Champions, top 100 (TA) & top 100 ITF, #1 ITF Senior & Top 10 ITF Senior singles ranked players and have helped numerous players reach their tennis goals not least of which locally to gain entry to the National Junior Championships (Melb Showdown).
