Project Update | Gunnedah Saleyard Upgrade Hosting over 120,000 cattle per year and generating approximately 90 million dollars in sales annually, the Gunnedah saleyards have evolved into the fifth largest cattle selling facility in NSW. Being that it was built in 1919, the yards were in need of an extensive upgrade. Our client turned to Anchor Safe due to our years of industry expertise in delivering tailored safe access systems for various saleyard projects throughout Australia. We were selected to design, supply, and install the auctioneers' platforms and public viewing walkway systems as part of the yard's upgrades. Shout out to Josiah Fulton who project managed this technical project and ensured the install ran smoothly and was delivered on time & on budget. Industry Alert | Mixed Manufacturer Systems: Recently the Working at Height Association released an article called Proprietary Systems vs Prescribed Systems - see link below. This is a helpful article and helps to answer questions and outline the risks around the mixing of various manufacturers components in one height safety system. One of the main issues with a mixed system is the fact that the components have not been tested together and therefore this dramatically increases the likelihood of system failure. As leaders in the height safety industry, we take a firm stance on this matter and report any mixed component installations as non-compliant to ensure that this risk is identified, and necessary steps can be taken to avoid potential system failure. Have a read of our recent blog where we go through the standards relating to this issue as well as WAHA & Kattsafe's stand on this concerning issue https://lnkd.in/gzj7GZNn 👉 https://lnkd.in/gANtakqx

A great artical by the Working at Height Association, which will help provide further clarity within the height safety industry; concerning the issues with mixing proprietary systems from various manufacturers. #Safetyfirst #compliance #heightsafety
What is the difference between a Proprietary System and a Prescribed System? Fall-arrest or access assemblies such as static lines, rigid rails, davits, etc can fall under two categories when considering their design and installation. The most common is a Proprietary System (this is sometimes called an engineered system), the other option is a Prescribed System(this is sometimes called a mixed manufacturer system). Identifying the difference between the two is important for several reasons; especially as a PCBU has a responsibility to provide a safe workplace for all users, whether they are staff, contractors or visitors. 🛠️Project Update – Platform & Stair System Creating ease of access is what Anchor Safe is known for, and this project was no different. Our team designed, supplied, and installed a platform & stair system up and over the ridge of this building for regular access to plant and equipment. This site had various roof levels spanning over 6.2 acres, and this stair system allowed for safe and efficient access over the center roof area, which greatly increased the efficiency & safety of access over the varying roof heights. As a result of the successful installation of this system, our client proved the benefit of simple, safe, and effective access solution, and proceeded with a second stair system to ensure upmost safety while working at heights. Reach out to the team for more access systems like this on 1300 475 186 or visit the website. #heightsafety #fallprevention #stairwaysystems
