On Monday, April 22nd, we were delighted to host a special visit from Member for Swan, Cassie Rowe, at our Belmont Office. It was an honour to welcome Cassie as she came to congratulate Wanslea on receiving the Department of Communities WA Women’s Grant for its Grandcare Wellness Weekends. Cassie's presence truly added to the celebration of this achievement, and we're incredibly grateful for her support. This grant will enable us to further our mission of promoting wellness and care in our community by offering respite opportunities for grandmothers with the full time care of their grandchildren. A big thank you to Cassie for taking the time to visit us and for her commitment to supporting initiatives like ours. We're excited about the positive impact this grant will have, and we're looking forward to the journey ahead. #WellnessGrant #Grandcare #CommunitySupport #Wanslea #wellnessretreat Picture left to right: Jess Moniodis, Research Development Officer – Wendy Prete, Coordinator, Grandcare & Children and Parenting Support – Paul Fitzgerald, Operations Manager – Cassie Rowe, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia – Clinton Roth, Chief Operating Officer – Anita Lumbus, PhD, Senior Research and Evaluation Officer.

After an exhaustive two-year search one of Western Australia’s oldest not-for-profit children and youth service providers has secured over 4000sqm of modern buildings set on 1ha of land in the tranquil Curtin-Bentley Precinct. As leaders in the sector Wanslea is seeking to build on its experience and develop a campus dedicated to improving young lives across the State and beyond. CEO, Jo Sadler says “This will allow Wanslea to realise our vision of bringing together the best minds in a contemporary, collaborative space, and furthering the body of evidence to ensure children and young people can thrive and become their best versions of themselves.” This groundbreaking achievement, which will provide a pivotal service for the children of Western Australia. Expected to open in 2025 the expansive two-building, two-storey facility is now undergoing fitout to create an innovative series of cutting-edge spaces that encourages development of the social, physical and mental wellbeing of children and young people all from a single integrated location. It will be focussed on practical outcomes and becoming a beacon in Western Australia that informs and improves children and youth services into the future through its evidence-based philosophy.
