Muhammad Aswad Hanif came to Australia initially as an International student ( Masters in Civil Engineering + Project Management). After a brief stint back in his native Pakistan through the COVID period, he is very happy to be starting a new role with Narrabri Shire Council as a Development Engineer. Aswad previously worked in Parramatta NSW for 4 years as a Civil Engineer, but is much happier heading to a regional role. Aswad's wife an IT professional will be joining him in the coming months and both prefer a regional lifestyle, with wide open spaces away from the rat race, both coming from families with farmland in Pakistan. Aswad has a young family and is looking to put down roots and all going well, settle in Narrabri long term. With the help of the Work+Stay Settlement Team, Aswad has secured a great rental property, many thanks to the Puteri Marini from Ewing Real Estate in Narrabri. Aswad will be welcomed in Narrabri one of our newest Community Welcome Partners, Jocellin Jansson who sits on the board of the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation, and has a lifelong commitment to the growth of regional NSW. We wish Aswad all the best – he set out for Narrabri on Australia Day 😀 🔎 Looking for a role in regional Australia? Check out one of our latest placements Milad Alia who has made his move to Narrabri Shire !
Community Engagement | Stakeholder Relations + Management | Program Design | Multicultural Inclusion Specialist | Experienced Creative | Social Impact | Enterprise & Workshop Facilitation | Public Speaking
Milad Alia has secured a role with Narrabri Shire Council as Water Services Engineer, he made his move out to the Namoi region in NSW in early January this year. Milad is a highly qualified and skilled Site Engineer. His experience includes Civil engineering and infrastructure roles in Iran and in Australia, where he has contributed to the delivery of large scale infrastructure projects. Not one to sit idle, back in Iran, Milad held national championships in kick boxing and mountain biking. He also spent some time as a professional cyclist. There is a nice symmetry to this as Narrabri itself was named “Australia's Sportiest Town” by Channel 9's “Today Show”, as a result of the large number of shire residents who have represented their sport on a state, national and international level, the shire is also bursting with ovals and sporting facilities. Milad has been in Australia for 2 years and see's this role is an exciting career progression opportunity in his specialty of Water Management. Milad will be welcomed in Narrabri by one of our newest Community Welcome Partners, Jocellin Jansson who sits on the board of the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation, and has a lifelong commitment to the growth of regional NSW. Australia's keen interest in understanding the skills and socio-economic contributions of migrants isn't new. Several studies conducted by the Australian government, independent bodies, and universities have delved deeply into this topic, providing us a wealth of information on the value that migrants bring. What's even more exciting? The skills of our migrant community align seamlessly with the projects in “Future of Jobs Report 2023” regarding the expected evolution of skills over the next five years. It seems we’re on the right track! Here are some key insights into the unique skills brought by migrants: ➡ Diverse Skillsets: Data from the Australian Skill Migrant Program suggests that migrants coming to Australia bring a broad range of expertise, often in areas underrepresented in the native workforce. Migrants are not just making Australia talent pool bigger, we're making it richer and more vibrant. This often gives rise to groundbreaking ideas, whether in tech, arts, or business. Think of migrants as the secret ingredient in the innovation cocktail. ➡ Adaptative Resilience: Let's be real, moving countries is no joke. The journey of migration is more than just geographical. Beyond new addresses, it's new cultures, foods, and sometimes even driving on the other side of the road! Such experiences sharpen adaptability and resilience, making migrants well-equipped for the demands of our dynamic global environment. ➡ Economic Contribution: The Australian government's advisory body has highlighted the positive economic contributions made by migrants. The diverse skills and experiences often bridge essential gaps in the workforce, boosting productivity and economic growth. To put it in a relatable context: Migrants energise the economy and job market similarly to how your morning caffeine infusion kickstarts your day. So, the next time you're sipping your morning coffee, and you spot a colleague from another part of the world, recognise the wealth of possibilities and fresh perspectives they could bring to the table. Keep in mind, they might just be that shot of innovation and resilience your project needs. Now, over to you: Are you witnessing this rich blend of diversity in your workspace? Especially if you’re a migrant, are there specific skills in which you take great pride? I invite you to share your insights and experiences in the comments below. I would love to delve deeper into this discussion. #recruitment #Adelaide #SouthAustralia #Diversity #Inclusion #migrants #latina #immigrants #immigrantstories #migrants #internationalstudents #jobsearch #network #marketing #digitalmarketing #communicationsspecialist
