We're excited to be a Major Event Sponsor of Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA) World FM Day events for VIC, NSW, and QLD! This year, we're proud to be a part of an engaging discussion revolving around a four-person panel. The panel delved into their experiences, shared valuable guidance, and exchanged innovative ideas, all centered around this year's theme of 'Ignite Your Career in FM.' As a provider in the facilities management industry, we understand the importance of fostering growth and development within the FM community. Meet the PVV Kokoda Trekkers: Day 5! Happy Monday, all. We are putting in a content warning here, for today's post. Introducing Colin Cooper: "Hey there, I’m Colin. I am very privileged to be offered the opportunity to partake in the Police Veterans Victoria Kokoda trek later this year. I am a recently retired police officer having served 29 years. I originally intended to retire from the police force when I was due to turn 60, but unfortunately the PTSD “Demon” caught up with me. (Just like it has with many of my colleagues over the years). As a result I accepted ill health retirement at 55. It is disappointing that my police career ended this way. I have attended quite a few deaths of people that I knew in my local community. This included the tragic deaths of a best mate of mine and then a few years later, his Dad, who I was also very close to. They were both killed in motor vehicle incidents. Those deaths absolutely “smashed” both myself and our families. Promoting the awareness of what PTSD does to people‘s life in such a detrimental way is very important. And not just the individual police member but also their families, who often also find it very challenging. I feel that there is a perception in the general community that people enter the Police Force knowing that dealing with death and traumatic incidents is just a normal part of “The Job” that you sign up for. But it’s not the case. Police are not “bulletproof” and wearing the uniform doesn’t make us immune from the trauma and emotional heartbreak. From a personal sense, it has also been a “bucket list” goal of mine to complete this trek as I have an interest in the history and significance of Kokoda from a military perspective out of respect to my father, and other relatives, who all served in the military. Unfortunately another great mate of mine, whom I worked with, died very recently on the 5th April. Only aged in his 50’s. Another long term sufferer from PTSD who had witnessed too much tragedy just doing “His Job” over the years. I now have the added aim to complete this trek out of respect for him and his family. On a positive note, I am excited about tackling the challenge of such a trek for my own mental well-being, both physically and mentally. I look forward to that challenge and will enjoy doing it as a team with the other trekkers." Colin's primary sponsor is the MA Services Group, who we are immensely grateful for to have come on board. Colin has raised $200 towards his goal since our launch. Let's help him reach it and stand up for this everyday hero: https://lnkd.in/g53iC6hM

We're proud to shine a light on Steven, who has been an integral part of MA Services Group and the Henkel Australia team for the past 15 years. As a Gatehouse Security Officer, Steven's dedication and professionalism have made a lasting impact on security operations. “Steve has been filling the role of Gate Guard at Henkel’s facility in Kilsyth for over 15 years. Steve has always been reliable. He has always ensured that a fill-in has been organised and trained if he is going to be away. He has been constant in his enforcement of the Henkel rules regarding security and site-access, and calm in his handling of the occasional truck-driver who did not want to follow the requirements. He has always demonstrated his ability to work independently, requiring little supervision but always prepared to seek guidance or assistance when needed.” Darren Fahlbusch, Operations & Supply Chain - ANZ, Adhesive Technologies Steven's steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Henkel's premises has been instrumental in upholding our standards of excellence. Well done Steven.

Today we remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for us to live in this great country. We also think of those who are currently somewhere in the world carrying on the ANZAC tradition, of fighting for our country, our values, our way of life and fighting for the person next to them. Mateship of a depth that only some will understand. We think of those that wait back home for their loved ones to return, yes, they too are fighting their own war. We remember the animals that served, and the ones still serving, a bond between human and animal based on love, trust and loyalty. And we think of those that have come home, who carry the wounds of battle, both physically and emotionally, for some of you, the war still rages, long after the last shot is fired. So, stand proud today ANZACS and your families as its your day to be remembered. It's your day to walk in the sun. Lest We Forget. #anzac #anzacday #lestweforget
