  • A great achievement again for Chris McManus and Chris McMahon being recognised as a couple of the best lawyers in Australia! It is always a team effort and we do have some of the best people to assist should the unexpected ever happen.

Murphy’s Law Accident Lawyers has once again been endorsed as being among Australia’s best, with our very own Chris McManus (Principal) and Chris McMahon (Special Counsel) named today in the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia™. These recognitions, in the categories of Personal Injury Litigation and Motor Vehicle Law, are not just accolades. Rather, this list is respected by the legal profession, the media and the public, for being the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals. True to its motto, “the best lawyers know who the best lawyers are”, a rigorous process of nominations, outreach, voting, and research was undertaken to capture the consensus of Australia’s leading lawyers and produce these results. We congratulate Chris and Chris for being named in the definitive guide to the best practitioners in the country.

  • The boys assembled and fired up the barbie on Friday to spoil our ladies for International Women’s Day in recognition of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements the women in our team provide our clients, and the world at large, every single day. With our ladies outnumbering our fellas, we had a team cheers and we ALL “just wanted to have fun”! Mission accomplished ✅

Potential opportunity for a change of lanes. Are you a paralegal looking for a change your focus? Why not join our industry-leading team of personal injury litigation professionals?    We are a rapidly growing boutique personal injuries practice based at Kedron on Brisbane’s northside. Approaching our 10-year anniversary, the practice currently hosts 31 staff assisting hundreds of clients across most areas of personal injury law.   You will be based in our Kedron office, situated in a historically significant building that has been extensively renovated to optimise natural light and host all modern amenities.   Our key leadership personnel have over 120 years of collective legal experience, with two of the firm’s senior solicitors having been continuously recognised by QLS as personal injury accredited specialists for 40 years and collectively holding almost 50 personal injury industry acknowledgements between them.    Proudly, Murphy’s Law is an evolving legal practice that has its eyes focused on developing new areas and maintaining its currency. In the past 5 years we have grown services to add multiple new areas of practice, and continue to focus on the growth of other new areas.   The successful applicant will be able to, or be trained to, support our lawyers in the active management of their file loads from new enquiry stage through to finalisation of claims, using our detailed task management templates, precedents and workflows. The role involves the management and organisation of case files, creation of legal documentation with instruction, the servicing of our clients as a primary point of contact, providing updates on case progress and addressing enquiries, scheduling and coordinating meetings and medical appointments, and collaborating with other staff to enhance client outcomes, office cohesion and professional development opportunities.   The role requires excellent organisational, time management and typing skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. The ability to work independently on tasks which are part of a greater purpose is important, as well as strong written and verbal communication abilities and attention to detail.   Join us to experience our team approach, training and role mentoring, and dedicated internal training program. Other benefits include:   √ Modern workplace located outside of Brisbane city – reduce the time you take to get to and from work, and save thousands on travel and parking.   √ Lunch on us – enjoy an active lunchspace with lunch ingredients supplied, and save $50-$80 (or more) per week. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Contact Donna McManus at donna.mcmanus@murphys-law.com.au for more information on the role including a full list of benefits available to the successful applicant.

Last week was a busy one on the networking front, with our up-and-coming solicitors rubbing shoulders with their peers at two fantastic events.   Our team had the opportunity to engage and forge connections with fellow professionals at the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland (WLAQ) breakfast and the Queensland Law Society (QLS) Future Leaders Committee event.   One of the standout moments was the speech from the Vice President of the Future Leaders Committee, Ms Helen Driscoll, who reflected upon the work of the Committee this year, and in particular, their creation of resources such as 'The Hub' for early career lawyers.   Overall, the consensus was that both events were run exceptionally well and allowed our solicitors to continue their professional development and community engagement.
